I installed it on my Mac and can't find the plug-in in the folders. Where is it?
It's there — Tonic uses Apple's AUv3 format, where the plug-in lives INSIDE the app instead of as a loose file in Components or VST. There's nothing to copy: open Tonic once and macOS registers the instrument and the effect for you.
- ·After opening the app once, look in your music software for “RSJB: Tonic Synth” (instrument) and “RSJB: Tonic” (effect).
- ·Still missing? Keep the app in your Applications folder (running it straight from Downloads makes macOS block the registration) and reopen your music software — Logic caches its own list: Plug-in Manager → Reset & Rescan Selection.
Does it work in my software? (Logic, Live, Pro Tools, Cubase…)
On the Mac, Tonic is an AUv3 plug-in. It loads directly in Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage, Ableton Live 11.2 or newer, and REAPER. On iPhone and iPad it works in any app that hosts AUv3 (AUM, Cubasis, Logic for iPad and others).
- ·Pro Tools: yes, with a bridge. Pro Tools only takes AAX, but Blue Cat’s PatchWork (2.78 or newer) hosts AUv3 and runs as AAX — one of our users already confirmed Tonic playing this way. Two steps that are not obvious: use the INSTRUMENT version of PatchWork (“PatchWork Synth”) on an instrument track, not the effect one (on the effect version Pro Tools suspends processing when no audio comes in, and the instrument stays silent); and, inside PatchWork, click a plug-in slot and choose “Scan Plug-Ins”, because AUv3 is never found by scanning folders, only by that scanner.
- ·Cubase, FL Studio and Studio One do not load AUv3 yet — a bridge like PatchWork is the same route there.
- ·We do not ship our own VST3 or AAX today. If your software needs one, write to app@rsjb.com.br and tell us which — that is how we decide what comes first.
Do the apps collect my data?
Outside Tonica (Tonic), no: everything happens on your device, with no account and no analytics. In Tonica, which is optional, only the sounds you choose to publish go up, with your nickname and an anonymous code — details in the Privacy Policy.
What is the pricing model?
Paid app, one-time purchase. No ads, no subscription.
Where are my files saved?
You choose in the system dialog — iCloud Drive, "On My iPhone/iPad", Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or any Files-app source.
Can I use commercial SoundFonts or cartridges?
Technically yes, but check the license of the original material before redistributing.
